Edward Kahana recently wrapped shooting for the first four episodes of 9 to 5 Ninja, a ninja-comedy starring Anne Lundbom, Eric Jacobus, Lucas Okuma, Shaun Finney, Ray Carbonel, J.J. Johnson, and Steve Yu. Currently in post-production, the episodes will premiere shortly. For now we have some photos:
Holy cwap! While Shaun and I were browsing Reel Video in Berkeley, I was looking through their martial arts films, no sign of Contour. Nothing in the ‘local filmmakers’ section even. Then I went to the new release section, and they had not one, but five copies of Contour. Fortunately Shaun had his camera phone, because we were POSITIVE that if we left to get a camera and came back they’d all be rented out, and a photo we would not have.
Director Keith Richardson has recently commissioned the talents of various SP members to perform stuntwork and fight choreography for his upcoming film Blessed Blood, a bloody vampire actioner. Keith has released two trailers, which are embedded below. In them you’ll spot myself (Eric Jacobus), Dennis Ruel, Anne Lundbom, Ray Carbonel, and Troy Carbonel.
Just in case you missed it, the Stunt People film “Contour” was featured in Impact Magazine last year. We had a nice 2-page spread. Many thanks to Mike Leeder for his help in promoting “Contour”! Right click the image below and save as to download the full spread, or go to the Press/Reviews Page.
It’s official: you can buy Contour at a Fry’s store near you. So go get one, and impress the store clerk by telling her you know us. Even if you don’t, we’ll vouch for you if she asks us.
If you side step over to Tiger Claw Foundation.org you’ll see that Ed Kahana and Brandon Daranouvongs have made the front page for volunteering their time in the Glide Martial Arts for Kids Workshop (Gallery) organized by Janeen Lee of the Capture the Dream Foundation. If you or someone you know would like to organize a community event, please contact us at stuntpeople at yahoo dot com.
As I was adding more old videos nobody cares about to the Graveyard Page, I realized how much a pain it is to click them and be taken to an external media site to view them. So I’ve made them pop up in the same page so you can stay in the comfort of the SP web, rather than being dragged to a horrible looking youtube page where you’ll be distracted by 12-year-old girls video blogging about the size of their new toe rings.
As I add old videos to the Graveyard Page, I’ll post a few memorable ones here. This is Stunt Reel 6, one of the first things I shot when moving to San Francisco and hooking up with Andy Leung. Enjoy!
